WATCH: Content creator faces jail time for pranking videos

Pranking is not new to the online world, however... it is getting a TikToker in some legal trouble.

Heston Cobb, who goes by “Heston James” (21) and has amassed 1.6 million followers online, was arrested Wednesday at his home following months of disruptive, on-camera pranks targeting businesses in Tempe, Arizona. That's according to a statement from the Tempe Police Department.

Among the antics that drew concern: Cobb reportedly impersonated a distressed woman, loudly shouting “help” in public spaces. When bystanders rushed in to assist, they found him casually continuing to shop, acting as if nothing was wrong.

In other videos, Cobb and a crew dressed as employees, stormed into staff-only areas of various businesses and staged fake work scenarios.

One widely shared clip shows Cobb and a fake cleaning team entering a Chipotle restaurant, grabbing supplies, and claiming they were there for a cleaning assignment.

While his videos have gone viral and stirred debate online; some viewers calling the stunts funny, others labeling them disruptive and mean-spirited, the consequences have been real.

Cobb now faces multiple charges, including five counts of disorderly conduct, five counts of criminal trespass, two counts of criminal impersonation, and one count of burglary, court records show.

The investigation is ongoing, with police warning that more arrests and charges may be forthcoming.

The police department also issued a warning to influencers chasing clout through pranking.
