Father accused of raping and impregnating biological daughter applies for bail

JOHANNESBURG - The Tsakane Magistrates Court will be hearing the bail application of a father accused of raping and impregnating his biological daughter.
The alleged crime is said to have taken place in 2022 in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.
The victim was 15 years old at the time and has since given birth to a child, who is now three years old.
While the alleged rape is said to have taken place in Ekurhuleni in 2022, the victim was moved by her family to Modjadjiskloof, Limpopo, where she reported the rape to her family.
It was only in Modjajiskloof that the matter reached law enforcement, and police arrested the father.
However, because the incident occurred in Ekurhuleni, the matter was moved to Tsakane Magistrates Court.
The accused is expected to start a bail application today.
The media will not be allowed to record proceedings as the victim was a minor at the time of the incident.
