Joburg Mayor Dada Morero says talks continue over Kenny Kunene’s Transport portfolio replacement
The position was left vacant last month after the Patriotic Alliance’s Kenny Kunene resigned as a councillor.

JOHANNESBURG - Talks are under way among Johannesburg’s coalition partners to determine who to appoint as the new MMC for transport.
The position was left vacant last month after the Patriotic Alliance’s Kenny Kunene resigned as a councillor.
Kunene’s resignation was prompted by his latest controversy, this time involving questions around his links to a murder accused businessman.
It’s understood the Patriotic Alliance wants Kunene’s replacement in the Transport portfolio to come from its ranks.
Mayor Dada Morero said coalition partners will decide.
"It’s normal a process of political parties to come together before making the announcement, and at the right time, we will make the announcement. We will fill the post once we have finalized the discussion. So that’s normally what happens when we do the appointments of members of the mayoral committee," said Morero.
