Cape Town police probing Beacon Valley shooting

CAPE TOWN - Police are investigating yet another gang-related shooting in Beacon Valley, in Mitchells Plain.
Cape Town has been marred by deadly gang and taxi-related violence over the past two weeks.
The death toll and number of injuries continue to rise, while police and law enforcement have beefed up operations in crime hotspots.
In Sunday's shooting in Mitchells Plain, one person was killed and five people were wounded.
The youngest gunshot victim was 14 years old.

On Monday morning, a man was found murdered in Epping Forest, in Elsies River.
The police's Wesley Twigg: "According to reports, the victim was found tied up with a rope. Arrests are yet to be made."
Meanwhile, police are focused on removing illegal firearms from the city's streets.
Last week, Western Cape Police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile said that 35 illegal firearms were confiscated, including seven semi-automatic rifles, among them four AK-47s and two Uzis.
At the same time, five people were shot dead and nine were wounded in taxi violence, while a man was shot and killed and another was wounded in a gang shooting outside the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court.
