The On The Record Summit takes place from 19 to 20 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
This year, it will focus on the practical solutions to the unemployment crisis.
Basson is calling on South Africans to share their ideas to help drive job creation and email suggestions to otr@news24.com.
Individuals with compelling proposals may be selected to attend the summit.

Basson says they have worked with economists who say that the economy must grow at between six and seven percent per annum to achieve real job creation.
They are focusing on growth in agriculture, manufacturing, and mining, re-examining BBBEE with experts, and focusing on education and skills development.

He adds that while the government may not have funds to create these jobs, they can contribute physical assets and make regulatory changes.
“We're bringing everyone to the table. We've invited President Ramaphosa, the unions, business, labour and a lot of civil society and of course also international speakers.”
