Pet owners in Lwandle are being advised to be on the lookout for any signs of illness in their pets.
The warning comes after the Animal Welfare Society Helderberg reported a mass poisoning of dogs in the area on Wednesday morning.
The organisation said it suspected that the dogs ate poisoned meat that was deliberately thrown onto people’s property.

"If their dogs are showing any signs of poisoning, to take it to the nearest vet as soon as possible. We are also available to help if they can’t afford a normal vet. That’s what we are here for."
