WC police condemn mob justice incident after discovery of three charred bodies

Western Cape police have condemned an incident of mob justice after they discovered three charred bodies.

The incident occurred on Sunday at the Siqualo informal settlement in Phillipi.

Police spokesperson Andre Traut said detectives are working to identify the victims and find the culprits.

"Acts of mob justice are criminal and pose a direct threat to the safety and stability of our communities. No individual or group has the authority to take the law into their own hands, regardless of the circumstances."
