WEATHER: Expect warm, sunny skies in Gauteng on Thursday

Johannesburg and Pretoria are bracing for a warm day ahead, as the latest forecasts from AccuWeather show largely sunny skies and strong UV levels across both cities.
In Johannesburg, temperatures are set to reach a high of around 26 °C. The weather service predicts minimal rain (just a 3% chance) and cloud cover will be light, at only about 17%
Winds will blow from the west at a moderate pace of 11 km/h, gusting up to 28 km/h.
As the evening draws in, cloud cover may increase slightly, and there’s a 25 percent chance of precipitation or isolated thunderstorms.
Overnight lows are forecast to drop to around 13 °C, with a gentle northeasterly wind and some gusts up to 35 km/h.
Meanwhile, Pretoria is set to experience very similar conditions. The high is expected to reach 27 °C. The day will be mostly sunny, interspersed with a few clouds, and again the UV index will hit 13, which AccuWeather categorizes as ‘xtreme’.
Winds in Pretoria are forecast from the west-northwest at around 12 km/h, with gusts nearing 27km/h. No measurable rainfall is expected.
Overnight, temperatures will dip to 15 °C with increased cloudiness and northeasterly winds.
