Human rights organisations are accusing FIFA of negligence after the deaths of several migrant workers in Saudi Arabia.
These workers have been working on massive projects for the 2034 World Cup, including building 11 new stadiums and 185,000 hotel rooms.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) reports that dozens of workers from Bangladesh, India and Nepal have died in horrific, yet preventable, workplace accidents this year so far.
This includes death by electrocution, decapitation, falling and heat exhaustion.

The deaths have reportedly been classified as ‘natural’ and are not being investigated. The workers' dependents are also not being compensated.
“These are hardly what you might call natural causes.”
