The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has replaced all 11 of its regional executive committees with task teams ahead of next year’s local government elections.

In February, ANC veteran Jeff Radebe was brought in to bolster the party’s restructuring efforts, following its dismal performance in the 2024 general elections.

Radebe is tasked with rebuilding the party’s strength in the province.

He says they held a 'fruitful' summit in Durban this past weekend, comprised of alliance partners, traditional leaders, activists, and progressive groups.

Radebe tells Manyathela that the summit revealed that the party must do more to serve the people.

"People are crying out for leadership... good and better service delivery to their communities."

"What we have done is establish 11 regional task teams that are responsible for building and renewing the ANC."
