Listen below:
The Fair Pay Bill is designed to prevent employers from using a candidate's salary history to determine their job offers.
It will mandate employers to disclose salary ranges in job ads and promotes equal pay based on merit.
The bill will also ensure that workers are legally allowed to discuss job offers and pay with each other.

Maimane says this should prevent employers from exploiting job seekers by paying them less than the salary band they had available for the role.
“We are trying to... bring transparency.”
