Cape Town hockey star Malikah Hamza pens inspiring children’s book

CapeTalk's Clarence Ford is joined by Malikha Hamza from Kensington, who plays professional hockey in Germany for German Bundesliga 1 side, Harvestehuder.

Cape Town’s Malikah Hamza has always loved sport.

While at school she played golf, soccer, netball and enjoyed swimming.

These days though, the 20-year-old Kensington athlete is focused on hockey, and currently plays professionally for German Bundesliga 1 side Harvestehuder.

But she has recently swapped her hockey stick for the written word, with the release of her first children’s book, Malikah - The Girl Who Loves Sport.

The book, written by Darryl Earl David and inspired by her father, was released in November.

With it, she says she hopes to inspire a new generation of young athletes.
