Operations have returned to normal at Cape Town International Airport following a fire.

The blaze broke out in the International Inner Lane on Tuesday.

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) said some manual processing remains in place while power and most systems have been restored.

ACSA said many check-in counters have returned to normal but some processes are still running manually.

The Border Management Authority (BMA), Customs and Baggage are among the processes being done manually.

International flights resumed on Tuesday night, but the International Arrivals corridor is also still closed.

The fire broke out in the Northern Service Yard along the international inner lane on the landside of the airport on Tuesday.

Emergency crews managed to douse the blaze quickly, but smoke affected sections of the International Terminal, prompting a precautionary evacuation.

ACSA advises all travellers who were unable to collect their luggage on Tuesday to retrieve their bags from the northern side of the temporary Meeters and Greeters entrance.
