Cold front triggers Yellow Level 2 warning in Western Cape

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for heavy rain and damaging waves for parts of the Western and Northern Cape (West & South coast).
A cold front is expected to lash the Cape from Thursday to Friday (17 and 18 July).
Areas such as Saldanha Bay, Plettenberg Bay and Alexander Bay have been highlighted as high-risk areas most affected by the cold front.
SAWS warns the public of the following safety risks:
- Keep off coastal rock areas due to large waves.
- Difficulty in navigation at sea and small vessels are at risk of capsizing.
- Localised disruptions to port and harbour activity.
- Localised disruptions to beachfront activities are also likely.
