The DA is continuing to push back at the ANC with a criminal complaint against the Higher Education Minister.

The party threatened ‘serious consequences’ if the president did not remove corruption accused ministers, including Nkabane, after firing the DA’s Andrew Whitfield.

Nkabane has been accused of misleading parliament over her appointment of boards for Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), which constitutes fraud.

Khaukhau says the party found evidence that Nkabane hired 20 ANC loyalists as SETA chairs out of more than 570 applications.

“There is no way that in South Africa our land, that 573 applications ended up with that composition of 20.”

She also alleges that the Higher Education Minister lied about appointing an independent panel to advise her on board appointments.

Khaukhau says that the DA has been wanting to pursue action against Nkabane since May, and this case is not about the dismissal of Whitfield.

“The DA has been committed to fighting Nobuhle Nkabane from the word go. Andrew Whitfield’s case is completely independent of that.”

The DA is calling for Nkabane to be fired immediately and arrested for fraud.
