Edu Invest, powered by Wesgro, is a pioneering public-private partnership launched in collaboration with the Western Cape Education Department.
Established in October 2023, Edu Invest is designed to drive transformative investment in the education sector, with a strong focus on developing affordable independent schools and enhancing access to essential educational resources and services.
The initiative aims to attract private sector investment to accelerate the growth of quality education in the Western Cape – particularly through the development of new, affordable school infrastructure in high-demand areas.

Over the past 18 months, Edu Invest has played a key role in facilitating the establishment of new affordable schools, specifically targeting underserved communities and supporting low-income learners.
Viljoen says that their efforts are already creating lasting, sustainable improvements in the education landscape.
She adds that by putting action behind their words and working directly with learners on the ground, they're changing access to good quality education.
