Five killed in car crash on EC's N2 between Cintsa and Brakfontein

JOHANNESBURG - Five people have been killed in a car crash on the N2 between Cintsa and Brakfontein on Tuesday morning.
The driver of the minibus taxi swerved to avoid a fallen tree blocking the highway and lost control of the vehicle.

The crash comes hours after two trucks collided on the N10 on Monday, causing an overnight backlog of cars and trucks.
“The adverse weather conditions experienced all across the Eastern Cape have had a hand in this accident,” said Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson Unathi Binqose.
“He [the driver] and a female passenger have sustained injuries and have been rushed to hospital. We are calling on road users to be extra vigilant and careful under these conditions on our roads to avoid accidents like this one we have seen today.”
