How to avoid being scammed during Tax Season
Some tips to get ahead of the criminals out to exploit people trying to be compliant with SARS.

Harris explains that criminals take advantage of this time to capitalise on the fact that many people are expecting correspondence from the South African Revenue Service.
They will do this by sending very convincing links and letters of demand, in an attempt to entice you to share your banking information, OTPs, or even make payments into fake accounts.

They also use fear tactics by accusing people of committing criminal activities.
Harris suggests slowing down, thinking carefully about what is being asked of you, and being very careful before clicking any links that are sent to you.
