Listen below:
With South Africa's unemployment rate being astronomically high, you cannot afford to sell yourself short with a weak CV.
Your CV will be a potential employer's first impression of you, and how you position yourself in it can be the difference between getting overlooked and getting hired.
To stand the best chance of getting an interview, your CV must be clear, impactful, and specific to the role you want.
“Every application needs to be tailor-made.”
- Thulisile Mgidi, Certified Coach - No-Valo Learning Centre
On average, an AI-powered Applicant Tracking System (ATS) will filter out 75% to 90% of CVs for a role before they even reach a human recruiter.
Mgidi adds that your CV must be a PDF and never a scanned copy, or it will be dismissed immediately.
The recruiter will then spend only six to eight seconds looking at your CV, so it will have to stand out in that time.
