Looking for a perfect school holiday outing?

Cape Town is getting a magical winter treat this July as Kickstart Theatre, in association with the Baxter Theatre, brings their acclaimed pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk' to the Mother City for the first time.

Running from 3 to 27 July, this larger-than-life production promises laughs, music, and interactive fun for the whole family.

"When I read the script for the first time, I was giggling so much...it's written for the young people as well as for the aunties, uncles, mums and dads who are coming to see it."
- Brent Palmer, actor

The cast includes William Young as Jack, Roshanda Lewis as Jill, Blessing Xaba as Jack’s long-suffering mother, Dame Flora Flatbroke.

Samantha Landers plays the role of the sassy fairy godmother, and Brent Palmer is one of two comedic villains.

The show blends heartfelt storytelling with classic panto flair.

"This fabulous panto is about Jack trying to rescue his mom and bring joy and happiness back to their home."
- Samantha Landers, actor

Written and directed by Steven Stead and brought to life with Greg King’s vibrant set designs, the show invites children to be part of the action, keeping them engaged and off their screens.

From the writing to the staging, audiences can expect a magical, immersive theatre experience.

With an energetic mix of physical comedy, catchy songs, and cleverly layered humour, this production is said to appeal to both kids and adults.

"It's current and so relevant, and it's just filled with so much magic and so much heart."
- Samantha Landers, actor
