Johann Strauss’ masterpiece waltz the `Blue Danube’ will be certified platinum across the galaxy.
The European Space Agency will beam a live performance by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra into the universe on 31 May.
The occasion celebrates the Viennese musician who was born almost 200 years ago on the 25th of October 1825. It also marks the space agency’s 50th anniversary .
The signal will be sent into space at the speed of light, passing the Moon in over a second, Mars in 4 minutes, and the outer limits of our solar system in 17 hours.
