Netcare’s interim revenue jumps 5.3% to R12.68 billion
The healthcare group has delivered a strong set of results for the six months ended 31 March 2025 despite a constrained and competitive operating environment.
Stephen Grootes speaks to Dr. Richard Friedland, Netcare’s CEO about the company’s half year financial results.

A continued emphasis on operational efficiencies, enhanced digital benefits, and lower strategic and diesel costs collectively contributed to strong operating leverage for the private healthcare group.
As a result, The Netcare Group recorded a 10.7% increase in operating profit over the prior period.
Netcare hospitals are experiencing a higher impact of the burden of disease, with an increase in chronic diseases both in the older and younger population.
The healthcare group is experiencing an increase in cancer treatment across all age groups, with a significant increase in mental health prevalence, becoming one of the top three causes of disability.
Speaking to Stephen Grootes on The Money Show, Netcare Group CEO, Richard Friedland says the use of generative artificial intelligence is also being utilised.
