'Be the change you want to see in the world.' For Raphael de Sousa and Tiago Brazier, these aren’t just words – they’re a mission in motion.
In Grade 11, this dynamic duo launched Delta Education, a groundbreaking initiative that’s reshaping how South African high school students access quality learning.
Delta Education is a completely free, offline, and zero-rated mobile app designed to make Mathematics and Physical Sciences accessible to all, regardless of background or location.
From custom-built calculators and syllabus-aligned notes, to past papers and interactive quizzes... everything students need is at their fingertips – no data, no cost.
Behind the scenes, Brazier drives operations, design, communications and marketing, while De Sousa (who taught himself to code using YouTube) builds the tech that powers it all.
"I needed to take a leap and learn how to develop mobile apps and no one I knew at the time had done anything like that."
- Raphael de Sousa, Co-founder – Delta Education
With over 45,000 global downloads, their app is transforming education with a simple tap.
What sets them apart? They listen to their users and deliver exactly what’s needed.
Brazier says that they're committed to keeping Delta Education free... always.
Available on both iOS and Android, Delta Education isn’t just an app – it’s making education accessible.
"Around monetisation and earning revenue, that's something that we do not aim to ever do."
- Tiago Brazier, Co-founder – Delta Education
