Not enough of us are donating blood - SANBS urges action this National Blood Donor Month
The South African National Blood Service is calling on more South Africans to register, as donor numbers remain critically low.

The SANBS is urging all who can to register to donate.
It could save a life.
Mosupye says currently very few South Africans are registered blood donors.

"We also have challenges around the disease burden in South Africa that creates a further challenge around the number of people that we are able to call on."

The World Health Organisation recommends that a country's acceptable level of donors be between 1% and 3%.
