PA leader wants to be the Western Cape's next Premier
This comes after the party released a list of leaders to run as premier candidates. PA Leader Gayton McKenzie is now expected to double as the party’s Western Cape Premier candidate.

CAPE TOWN - The Patriotic Alliance (PA) said it will stop at nothing to oust the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape as parties gear up to contest the national and provincial elections.
This comes after the party released a list of leaders to run as premier candidates.
PA Leader Gayton McKenzie is now expected to double as the party’s Western Cape Premier candidate.
McKenzie was nominated at a meeting of the PA's National Executive Committee over the weekend.
The party says McKenzie’s track record speaks for itself, having previously served as the district mayor of the Central Karoo.
While still scant on the details, the PA says McKenzie has bold plans for the province which has been run by the DA for over a decade.
By its own prediction, the PA expects the Western Cape to be hung at the May 29 polls, which means no political party will have outright majority.
In that case, the PA has touted itself as a kingmaker.
It believes the same will apply in Gauteng where it has fielded Kenny Kunene as the premier candidate.
