PICS: HBO reveals first look at Harry Potter for upcoming series currently in production

Fans across the wizarding world are buzzing with excitement as HBO revealed a highly anticipated first look at Harry Potter for its upcoming television series.

HBO shared the initial glimpse of Dominic McLaughlin, who plays Harry, stepping into the role, sporting his Hogwarts uniform, signature glasses, and faint scar.

They captioned the Instagram photo: "First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production."

Fans were quick to react. The sentiment is positive as most think McLaughlin is "the perfect choice."

"Perfect" was used a lot by Instagram users commenting on HBO's post. Another Instagram user also commented saying McLaughlin is such a good fit, he could pass as Harry's cousin.

Safe to say, fans are highly anticipating the series which is expected to premiere in 2027, 30 years after the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (also known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Potterheads know).
