Prepaid24, in collaboration with WhatsApp and Ozow, has launched a full service WhatsApp-based platform for topping up prepaid electricity, paying municipal accounts, and buying a variety of online vouchers.
This service aims to simplify essential electricity-related transactions for consumers.
“Young or old... across all demographics, people use WhatsApp.”
- Corné Lindeque, Business Development and Communication Manager - Prepaid24
To use the Prepaid24 – Transact WhatsApp channel, send a "Hi" message on WhatsApp to 060 012 2010, which initiates purchases.
You can also go to the Prepaid24 website and follow the prompts to go to WhatsApp.
You can then pay for electricity using Ozow’s Instant EFT or the Prepaid24 SmartFund.
You can also use the platform to get vouchers for services like Netflix, DStv, Showmax, Takealot, and Pick n Pay.
Purchase confirmations and tokens will be delivered instantly via WhatsApp.
“If you've got all your tokens on a dedicated WhatsApp chat, it is super easy to find your tokens.”
- Corné Lindeque, Business Development and Communication Manager - Prepaid24
Lindeque says this can also be helpful if you buy electricity for an older family member, as you can easily forward the tokens to them without the risk of it getting lost.
