The public is urged to stay clear of Silvermine as the South African National Parks (SANParks) conduct an aerial survey via helicopter of the damage from the fire.

While the blaze is contained, areas including Upper Tokai, Constantia Nek, Clovelly, and Boyes Drive remain hazardous due to smouldering debris and unstable terrain.

Chapman’s Peak and East Fort have been cleared and reopened.
