A single chip shaped like the Air Jordan Jumpman has sold for over $8,000 (around R143,000).

There were 32 bids on the hot Cheeto, with the price jumping from $250 to the final $8,113 over two weeks.

In early March the auctioneers sold another hot Cheeto, this one shaped like the Pokémon Charizard, for a shocking $87,840 (over R1.5 million).

The comments on social media are largely making fun of the person who would blow that kind of money on a chip.
