South Africa’s national Under-20 men’s football team was crowned the kings of Africa on Sunday (18 May) after a historic win in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Social media buzzed as the Amajitas made history, beating Morocco 1–0 to win their first-ever AFCON title.
The team won courtesy of a long goal kick from goalkeeper Fletcher Lowe, which Gomolemo Kekana capitalised on.
Lowe, alongside playmaker Tylon Smith, were named Best Goalkeeper and Best Player of the Tournament, respectively.
