702's John Perlman speak to gardening expert Paul Vonk.
Listen below:
Pruning might sound like a complicated and delicate act, but Vonk says it's not that difficult at all.
He also points out that we only have two weeks left of real winter, so it is definitely time to deal with your roses, creeping grasses etc.
"You have only this time now to interfere with them and cut them short..."
- Paul Vonk, Gardening Expert
Vonk says it's important to trim the dead material from your plants at least every two years to give the roots a 'breather'...
"You want to encourage more growth so you have more blooms... that's the whole objective."
- Paul Vonk, Gardening Expert
