NG Gemeente Citrusdal Trail Run en Basaar
When: Saturday, 3 May 2025
Where: Citrusdal, Western Cape
About the event: Join for a thrilling journey through scenic rooibos fields, citrus orchards, and mountains, where each step brings you closer to the serene countryside and the vibrant spirit of camaraderie and a celebration of community and togetherness.
Prizes, lucky draws and a festive bizarre will be there for enjoyment too.

Klein Karoo Gravel Corridor Challenge - Montagu
When: Sunday, 4 May 2025
Where: Driekuilen Nature Reserve, Breede River District
About the event: The ride begins in the “Karoo/Agterveld” and heads east into the sunrise, traversing the Anysberg Nature Reserve before turning west again and making its way towards the picturesque town of Montagu.
The event starts in the Karoo and finishes in Montagu, making it a point-to-point event rather than a circular route, with the added opportunity to spot some wildlife along the way.
Distances: 80 & 110 km
- Start: 8 am
- 110km @ R650 late entries R750 Ride only
- 80km @ R550 late entries R650 Ride only
Kortpad/Shortcut 80km: This route option is suitable for those who are not yet fit or are first-time gravel event riders. The route runs all the way downhill to Montagu with five short sharp climbs that will test your lungs with a 453-meter ascent and 1203-metre descent.
Ompad/Detour 110km: adding 30km through the reserve makes this the ideal distance if you have some fitness in your legs. Not too long, just that perfect distance, making you finish in that sweet spot with a 618-meter ascent and 1371-metre descent.
Additional information:
- Registration: 3 May, Driekuilen Nature Reserve from 1pm till 4pm or on the morning of the event from 6:30 am till 7:30 am.
- Late entries and registration: on the morning of the event from 6:30 to 7:30 am.
- Start Venue: The Driekuilen Nature Reserve offers a range of accommodations, from camping to luxury cottages.
- Finish venue: Cadle Craft has luxury accommodations and great food.
- Your support: bring a friend or family member with to Driekuilen Nature Reserve, they will be treated with views of wildlife and the peace and tranquility of the Karoo.
- Backup support: please note that we do not allow support on the event route. The tar road is quicker and safer for everyone involved.

7 Kilometer Night Run to Honour Nurses
When: Saturday, 3 May 2025
Where: Sea Point Promenade, starting at the Mouille Point Lighthouse
About the event: This family-friendly event is open to everyone, not only nurses, and is a fundraiser for training exceptional nurses.
Entry fee:
- R160 per person
- R80 for children under 12
Entries close on 2 May.
Print out your ticket and bring them along on race day.
