CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to engage South Africa’s youth on Tuesday afternoon at the Belhar Sports Centre in Cape Town.
Spearheaded by the Western Cape National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), the gathering will reflect on three years since the launch of the Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES) and the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI).
The event will feature various hubs that will provide young people with access to resources and connections to transition from learning to earning.
The engagement comes at a crucial moment as the sixth administration nears its conclusion and in anticipation of the State of the Nation Address on Thursday.
The Presidency says since their inception, the PES and PYEI have collectively created more than 1.8 million job opportunities for the youth.
The engagement will also serve as a platform for young people to engage other young benefactors of the programmes and relevant stakeholders.
The Presidency says the dialogue is aimed at ensuring continuous support and improvement in youth development initiatives.
