At least five murder incidents reported in Cape Town over the weekend

CAPE TOWN - It’s been a bloody weekend in Cape Town with at least five murder incidents being reported.
This followed the Police Ministry's release of the quarterly crime statistics covering the period between 1 October and 1 December 2023, where a total of 7,710 people were murdered.

Over this past weekend, police responded to murders in Masiphumelele, Delft, and Strandfontein.
On Sunday, officers were deployed to a house in Bergvliet, where they discovered the bodies of a woman and a 10-year-old boy.
The latest crime statistics showed that the majority of the top 30 stations where murder was most reported included Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape.
The top five stations were in Inanda in KwaZulu-Natal, and Mfuleni, Gugulethu, Nyanga and Khayelitsha in Western Cape.
The Police Ministry added that it was concerning that of the 268 gang-related murders, 250 were reported in the Western Cape.
