Hlophe fails in last-ditch court bid to halt Parly's impeachment vote against him

JOHANNESBURG - Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe has failed in his last-ditch bid to avoid Wednesday's parliamentary vote on his impeachment, with his application struck from the roll.
The ruling was handed down on Wednesday morning in the Western Cape High Court, where he had applied in the hopes of securing an urgent interdict to stop the vote.

This means the National Assembly will on Wednesday afternoon vote on his and retired Gauteng High Court judge, Nkola Motata's removal from office.
They were both found guilty of gross misconduct.
This vote will be the first to happen in Parliament.
