JOHANNESBURG - The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) is calling on the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to take action against South Africans who have joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
PSC supporters protested outside the National Prosecuting Authority's offices in Cape Town earlier on Monday to highlight their appeal.

The PSC's Usuf Chikte said it's a serious matter that South Africans are being recruited to the Israeli army.
"We've been submitting cases since 2014 of instances where this is taking place - we've lodged criminal complaints, and the NPA has so far not responded to us."
Chikte said the PSC had identified about 80 South Africans who are soldiers in the Israeli army.
"They have failed to prosecute these individuals, to investigate them properly and we think this is tantamount to a failure on their part to execute their prosecutorial mandate regarding crimes of this kind and we feel this is a violation of the rule of law."
The NPA acknowledged receipt of a memorandum from the PSC and said it would respond in due course.
