Delft taxi operations remain unaffected following a deadly shooting at a local taxi rank.

A 50-year-old man, believed to be a taxi owner, and a woman were shot and killed near the Palm taxi rank on Monday night.

Police said the victims were travelling in a private vehicle when unknown gunmen ambushed them.

Monday night’s incident marks the second deadly shooting at a taxi rank in Delft in less than a week.

On Thursday, three people were killed at the Voorbrug taxi rank.

Despite the violence, minibus taxis in the area are running as normal.

Police have launched a manhunt for those responsible for both attacks.

The motive is believed to be linked to ongoing conflicts in the taxi industry.
