AZAPO: Late former PAC leader Motsoko Pheko was more than just an anti-apartheid activist

AZAPO representatives joined family and friends at Pheko's funeral service at the Rosebank Union Church in Johannesburg on Saturday.

JOHANNESBURG - The Azanian People's Organisation (AZAPO) says late former Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) leader Motsoko Pheko played a major role in the development of South Africa's heritage.

Azapo representatives joined family and friends at Pheko's funeral service at the Rosebank Union Church in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Speaking at the service, former AZAPO deputy president Pandelani Nefolovhodwe said Pheko was more than an anti-apartheid activist.

"To designate him as just an anti-apartheid activist is in fact a distortion of Dr. Pheko’s stature. He was a freedom fighter who fought for his land and he can't be just an anti-apartheid activist," said Nefolovhodwe.
