MK Party members hold minority representation talks with Zuma

NKANDLA - Talks over the representation of minority groups within the ranks of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party were held with party leader Jacob Zuma in Nkandla on Wednesday. 

MK Party members Mahmood Oumar and Ibrahim Shaik met with the former president to discuss the importance and inclusion of minorities in the country. 

MK Party scored more than two million votes in last week's general election, securing 58 seats in Parliament for the debutants.

Oumar said the party is all-inclusive when it comes to minorities. 

"We spoke about how minorities have a major role to play in this country. As minority groups, we want to ensure we steer this country in the right direction. We must have a pivitol role to play."

Shaik said it remains a priority to bring complete freedom to the people of SA. 

"It was also equally important to discuss minority representation and the inclusion and participation of individuals from marginalised or underrepresented groups in the decision-making processes as we move forward to a better South Africa, for all."
