JOHANNESBURG - As G4S employees embark on a strike across the country on Friday, thousands of businesses and banks are set to be impacted.

Workers are downing tools, demanding the company bring back retrenched employees, and as a result, will not be collecting nor distributing money.

The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) is demanding for G4S to explain the criteria it used to terminate the workers.

“We are also demanding that the employer must consult the last-in, first-out system, and consult with us,” said spokesperson Amanda Tshemasa.
