CAPE TOWN - Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) said operations are back to normal on Tuesday morning following a massive power outage.
Runway lights, airside fire rescue and air traffic navigation services were affected during the two-day outage, resulting in flights not being able to land or depart on Sunday night.
Teams have since been working on the issues and managed to return runway lights and navigational aids to service.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA)’s Ernest Mulibana said: "A team of ACSA technicians continued to work throughout the night and most work has been completed.
“However, the team remains on site, finalising repairs and testing the systems. Travellers are still advised to regularly check the status of their flight information in order to plan their journey accordingly."
