Local TikTok star Don Madfunz gifted new car in Gordo and Drake music video

South African TikToker Don Madfunz is going viral after his family appeared in Gordo and Drake’s new music video for their song Healing.

You may recognise Don Madfunz, real name Emmanuel Madonsela, from his many dancing videos on the platform.

In the music video title posted to Gordo’s video, he says:

“About 2 months ago while I was scrolling through TikTok, I stumbled upon THE DON Madfunz, a guy from South Africa with amazing energy. His taste in music grabbed my attention, but it was his dancing, smile and story that really hooked me.”

Shot in a documentary style, the video shows a day in Don’s life in KwaZulu-Natal.

It shows the family’s early morning, walking and talking.

Don says a small prayer, “God, give me a chance to have a car. This queen here she can’t do this all her life.”

He walks roughly 14km to work every day despite weather and his personal safety.

At the end of the video, the family at home when they are told to look outside.

Waiting in the yard is a new car gifted to them by Gordo.

“With this video, I wanted to show that Don’s positive attitude and joyful spirit are something we can all learn from, no matter what we’re going through,” Gordo wrote.
