CAPE TOWN - The SA Weather Service says the gale force winds currently battering the Western Cape will be accompanied by icy cold temperatures on Tuesday night.
Strong to gale force winds battered areas along the coast of Cape Town, the Garden Route, Overberg, Cape Winelands and Central Karoo on Tuesday.

"What we are experiencing for tonight, is there's this cold polar air behind the cold front that will be lingering over the Western Cape. So, we're expecting night temperatures to drop significantly. Even the day temperatures tomorrow [Wednesday] will be in the low teens."
Nake says snow is also expected to fall in some areas.
"We have issued a yellow level two warning for disruptive snowfalls over the western high ground areas of the Western Cape for tomorrow [Wednesday] morning."
