If you love penguins and animals of any kind - you might have seen Pesto the penguin pop up on your social media feed.

If not, you're about to. 

Over 1.9 billion people (and counting) around the world watched videos of Pesto online and he is going viral for his weight, even popstar Katy Perry gave him a shoutout.

Affectionately dubbed, a "fatty", an "absolute unit", and a "linebacker", the nine-month-old chonky chick has shot to superstardom for weighing 22kg - the largest chick to ever live at Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium - needless to say, Pesto is a star-attraction. 

Pesto is as heavy as his parents Hudson and Tango combined and wobbles around obscenely fluffy strutting his chocolatey-brown fur, making him even more adorable. 

The aquarium writes on its website that Pesto has a "hearty appetite of 25 fish a day."
