Salty Ducks Tidal Pool Challenge

When: Saturday, 7 December

Where: Various tidal pools along the False Bay coastline

About the event: The Salty Ducks invite you to participate in their annual Tidal Pool Challenge, where swimmers tackle 10 tidal pools in one morning — all for a great cause! 

This year, the funds raised will go to The Safe House, an organisation that empowers survivors of abuse and provides a haven for women and children to heal and rebuild their lives.

This challenge is perfect for those who want to contribute to a good cause without having to run a marathon or swim a mile in the name of camaraderie and making a difference together.

Rollercade is back in Cape Town

Where: Table Bay Mall, underground parking area

About the event: Get ready for an exciting return as Rollercade relocates to Table Bay Mall, specifically in the underground parking area near Pick n Pay. 

Rollercade will feature an indoor roller-skating rink, arcade games, and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for family fun.

Khayelitsha People Fun Run

Where: Mandela Park Stadium, Mathew Goniwe Street, Mandela Park

About the event: Experience the spirit of resilience and community at the Mandela Park Stadium in Khayelitsha, home to the iconic 10km and 5km races. 

Formerly known as the Khaya Yaphi Memorial Race, this flat and fast course celebrates the human spirit and honours the lives of Khayelitshans who have contributed to the betterment of society.

Jowa’s SuperBros 10s Tournament 2024 

When: 7 December 2024

Where: Worcester Gymnasium, Worcester

About the event: This event promises thrilling rugby action, community spirit, and unforgettable moments for the entire family. 

  • Men’s section: The open men’s competition will feature two pools of four teams. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals, while the remaining teams will compete for the plate.
  • Women’s games: Four ladies' rugby matches will be held in a round-robin format, showcasing the incredible talent of women in rugby.
  • New additions: The event will also include a five-a-side football and Netball Tens tournament, making it a multi-sport extravaganza.

Yoga for Surfers with Jim Harrington at Soul Space's New Imhoff Studio

When: 7 December 2024, from 11 am to 2:20 pm

Where: Soul Space at Imhoff Farm

This workshop is back by popular demand and designed to enhance your surfing performance through targeted yoga practices which include: 

  • Surf-specific techniques
  • Surf-specific warm-ups
  • Quick recovery routines
  • Core strength and pop-up drills
  • Shoulder stability and balance
  • Breath-hold training 

Jim will also review essential drills from the previous workshop and introduce new techniques to help you gain more power and drive from your turns while surfing. 

This session is perfect for surfers of all levels, whether you're returning or attending for the first time.
