JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Home Affairs has taken a step in its digital transformation journey with the launch of its new e-recruitment platform.
Minister Dr Leon Schreiber says the online system will allow job seekers to apply for vacancies without the hassle of paperwork, moving the department towards a future where services are digitally accessible and fraudulent practices are eliminated.
Home Affairs says this move is part of a larger strategy to digitise critical functions, including the national population register, which underpins services like social grants, tax collection and immigration management.
With this move - the department aims to make these services more secure and accessible through automation and biometrics, ultimately saving the country billions in fraud prevention.
The e-recruitment platform is live and it provides applicants with a glimpse of what the future of home affairs could look like.
