Paraguayan woman arrested for alleged drug trafficking expected to appear in court

JOHANNESBURG - A 43-year-old Paraguayan woman who was arrested for alleged drug trafficking is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said the suspect, who arrived at the OR Tambo International Airport from São Paulo, was found carrying 33 cocaine-filled bullets.
She was taken to a local hospital, where an X-ray revealed foreign objects in her stomach, which were later retrieved.
Police Spokesperson Amanda van Wyk said this is the fourth drug-trafficking incident intercepted recently.
“A total of 33 drug bullets containing cocaine were subsequently released. This arrest marks the fourth drug trafficker intercepted at OR Tambo International Airport in the past two weeks.”
