Relief efforts underway after Dunoon informal settlement fire

CAPE TOWN - Relief efforts are currently underway in the Zulweni informal settlement in Dunoon, Cape Town.
A blaze broke out in the community on Wednesday.
The Gift of the Givers has deployed teams to the fire-stricken area to assist those affected.
“Gift of the Givers teams are currently on site in the Zulweni informal settlement in Dunoon, where a fire destroyed a number of structures,” said the humanitarian aid organisation's Ali Sablay.
“Our teams are busy with assessments with the local community and disaster management teams. Our teams will be on site this morning [Thursday] to assist the community with hot meals, blankets, mattresses, and personal hygiene care packs.”
