Madlanga Commission postpones Suliman Carrim’s testimony to 29 April

The Madlanga Commission has postponed the testimony of North West businessman Suliman Carrim to 29 April.
Carrim was due to testify on Thursday; however, he is currently in hospital.
Earlier this week, Carrim suffered an undisclosed medical emergency while working out at a gym in Sandton.

Evidence leader Mahlape Sello said the commission’s chief evidence leader, Matthew Chaskalson, has been in contact with the businessman’s legal team.
“Mr Chaskalson advised that Mr Carrim is still in hospital. Chaskalson has been in communication with Carrim’s legal representatives and as things stand, Chaskalson wants to stand him down to the 29th of April this year.”
Commission chairperson Mbuyiseli Madlanga granted the postponement.
