JOHANNESBURG - The Temba Water Treatment Plant in the City of Tshwane has resumed full operations after the completion of repairs to its second raw water pump.
The plant had been operating at reduced capacity since a power failure at the raw water abstraction point earlier this week.
On Thursday, the plant was operating with only one raw water pump. However, with the completion of repairs, both pumps can feed the plant's treatment section.
City spokesperson Selby Bokaba says on-site reservoirs show a notable increase in water levels.
"The current plant production is 60 megalitres per day. And the on-site reservoirs are demonstrating a significant increase in levels. Residents are advised to continue using water sparingly to allow the system to fully recover."
